Nollywood’s most mischievous duo are back in town. Catch Aki and Pawpaw in theatres from December 17 2021.
Based on a story by Stephen Oluboyo and Ozioma Ogbaji (Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards), Aki and Pawpaw is a sequel to the classic Nollywood comedy Aki na Ukwa, which starred veteran Nollywood actors Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) and Osita Iheme (Pawpaw). When news first broke of the movie’s production, many had thought of it as a reboot but, according to the trailer, it’s a continuation of the old film, and Nollywood’s most mischievous duo are back in town.
16 years after they left the village in search of greener pastures, Aki and Pawpaw are back in the village, promising to lavish their mother with wealth.
According to the just released teaser trailer, Ikedieze and Osita reprise their roles as Aki and Pawpaw from the original film. Toyin Abraham is their mother, and operates a local bar. You expect her two mischievous sons to be spending most of their time there, pulling off their usual stunts and antics.
Chinedu Ikedieze, Osita Iheme, and Toyin Abraham, are joined by Anita Asuoha (Real Warri Pikin), Uti Nwachukwu, Stan Nze, MC Lively, Beverly Osu, Juliet Ibrahim and Chioma Okafor in what promises to be an exciting cast.
Aki and Pawpaw will release in December 17 2021 but first, catch the teaser trailer below:
