American rapper, multi-millionaire and business mogul, Sean Carter a.k.a Jay Z and late legendary rapper, DMX had many things in common. One is their undeniable legendary status in Hip Hop, another is their connection with Def Jam records, then, when those two pop up to talk, the industry, people listen.



Jay Z appeared on HBO MAX’s The Shop Season 4 with NBA superstar Lebron James. In the teaser, Jay recounts this moment when he and X were performing and how the audience took to him without him even starting a music. According to Jay Z, the audience produced deafening cheers the moment X started his famous ‘Dawg Growl.’ Peep the video which was posted by rapper and producer, Swizz Beatz on Twitter.
The first posthumous DMX album has been released. Exodus features appearances from Jay Z, Nas, Bono, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, the Lox, Usher, Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, Benny the Butcher, and DMX’s son, Exodus Simmons. Swizz Beatz executive produced and produced the 13-track record, which is available via Ruff Ryders and Def Jam.
Exodus marks the first DMX album for Def Jam since 2003’s Grand Champ. Earlier this week, Def Jam released the first offering from Exodus, “Hood Blues,” featuring Westside Gunn, Benny the Butcher, and Conway the Machine. The track was co-produced by Avenue Beatz and Swizz Beatz.
