Takeoff’s tragic shooting-death is the final dagger to the heart of a Migos reunion. The famous rap trio officially split this year, with Offset refusing to continue despite fans clamouring and hoping for a reunion. But the late rapper stuck with convener, Quavo and the two formed the rap duo Unc and Phew, going on to release a debut joint album “Only Built For Infinity Links” a couple of weeks ago.
The 18-track project features guest appearances from Gucci Mane, Summer Walker, Birdman, Young Thug, Gunna and more, with track 12 “Messy” off the debut album particularly impressing. It prompted Quavo and Takeoff to eventually drop a video for the song. Just a day before Takeoff’s harrowing demise (October 31), Unc and Phew debuted a Halloween-themed visuals for “Messy.”
