Weekend Watchlist: Kate, Malignant, & The Ghost and The Tout Too Are All Available For Viewing This Weekend

These are the top new films and TV shows that you cannot miss out on this weekend.

It’s already the second weekend of September 2021, and the ember months have started pretty strongly as far as film and TV shows are concerned. Don’t forget there are even bigger titles that have been confirmed before the ends.

1. Kate (Netflix)

After she’s irreversibly poisoned, a ruthless criminal operative has less than 24 hours to exact revenge on her enemies, and in the process forms an unexpected bond with the daughter of one of her past victims.

2. The Ghost and The Tout Too (Theatres) (Nigeria)

A young lady who grew up in a Ghetto meets with a ghost after an unfortunate incident takes place. Soon after, her life is thrown into a series of drama that only she can see and understand.

3. Malignant (HBO Max, Theatres)

Director James Wan’s latest horror film follows Madison, a young woman, is terrified by visions of the murders of strangers. Later, Madison decides to find and save the victims.

4. The Card Counter (Theatres)

William Tell is a gambler and former serviceman who sets out to reform a young man seeking revenge on a mutual enemy from their past. Tell just wants to play cards. His spartan existence on the casino trail is shattered when he is approached by Cirk, a vulnerable and angry young man seeking help to execute his plan for revenge on a military colonel. Tell sees a chance at redemption through his relationship with Cirk.

5. The Voyeurs (Amazon Prime Video)

Innocent curiosity turns into full-blown obsession when a young Montreal couple spy on their eccentric neighbours across the street.

5. Scenes From A Marriage (Limited Series on HBO Max)

This HBO Max limited series will start streaming on Sunday, September 12. Starring Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, it is an adaptation of Ingar Bergmann’s 1973 Swedish TV miniseries about a marriage falling apart. It follows Jonathan and Mira, an unhappy married couple as they try to navigate a devastating breakup.

6. Lucifer Season 6 (Netflix)

It’s the ultimate season of the fan favourite Netflix series Lucifer. In this finale, it’s a battle of who’s the best fit to rule the universe between Lucifer and his evil-twin, Michael.

7. Queen Sugar Season 6 (OWN)

“Queen Sugar” tells the story of the estranged Bordelon siblings in Louisiana. At the center of the family are Nova, a journalist and activist; Charley, the wife and manager of an NBA player; and formerly incarcerated father Ralph Angel, who is searching for redemption.
