Ruger released two new singles Red Flags and Asiwaju last week. Asiwaju, which arrived without a video unlike Red Flags, emerged the bigger fan-favourite. In the eve of Wednesday, November 23, the singer shared a cryptic tweet that seems to be targeted at a rival musician whom Ruger alleges is a clout chaser.
“I am something. For years now, I have forced my songs down people’s throat whether e sweet abi e no sweet either by too much ads or by paying every influencer to make noise about a song they don’t even like,” tweeted the 26-year-old. “Or by speeding my song on TIKTOK. WHAT AM I?”
Back in July, Ruger engaged a fan who said BNXN fka Buju is a better singer than he is. And in his rebuttal tweet, he said that Buju does not have as many solo hits as he has.

“I love buju he’s good but he’s not better than me,” tweeted Ruger. “Everything I’ve done since the beginning was only RUGER. All my hits are JUST RUGER. I’m always proud going on stage around the world with my own hits and everyone is singing along. You see the difference?”
Ruger’s remarks sparked a 4-way brawl between him, Buju, Omah Lay, and Victony. In September, Ruger also appeared to take a subtle dig at Kizz Daniel, after the Buga singer was arrested in Tanzania for breaching a concert agreement when he refused to perform because he had misplaced his luggage during his chattered flight from Kenya.
Ruger had a concert in Tanzania on October 1, and tweeted: “TANZANIA 🇹🇿 !!!! I’m here and i didn’t forget my bags. See you October 1st.” He ended the tweet it with a heart emoji.
