Young, Famous and African is Netflix’s first pan-African reality series and will premiere next month.
Set in the bubbly South African city of Johannesburg, “Young, Famous and African” follows the lives of young, rich and influential blacks as they navigate their lives and work- the beauty and madness of being wealthy and famous- the work, play, sex, breakups, makeups, and feuds that typify celebrity lifestyles.
If the show’s one-minute teaser is anything to go by, then viewers are primed for hot sauce, sheer drama and excitement, as it is packed with glitz and glam; jet-setting, luxury cars, and expensive jewellery.



According to its official synopsis, “Young Fanous and African is a glitzy reality series that follows a group of young, affluent and famous media personalities from across the Africa who come together in Joburg on a quest to make new connections, find love and possibly rekindle old flames.
It features an ensemble cast that includes Khanyi Mbau, Diamond Platnumz, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, Innocent “2baba” Idibia, Nadia Nakai, Swanky Jerry, Zari “The Boss Lady,” Naked DJ, Kayleigh Schwark and Andile Ncube.
Exclusive to netflix members and premiering on the 18th of March, the unscripted series is executive produced by co-creators Peace Hyde and Martin Asare Amankwa.
Netflix is expanding its content base and looking to endear more fans to its customer base after enjoying success with similar series such as “Selling Tempa,” “Love Is Blind,” “Too Hot To Handle,” “Bling Empire,” and “Selling Sunset.”
