Not a lot of people will frown at the idea of a celebrity Nigerian president right now, we’ve had had worse profiles.
Popular Nigerian actor Yul Edochie hit the new 30 for age on Friday, 7th January, and in an Instagram post to mark the huge milestone, Edochie asked God to make him the president of Nigeria in 2023 so that he can wipe away the tears of Nigerians.
“Happy 40th birthday to me. Happy birthday to a man of peace and love. I thank God for letting me see this day in my life. I thank God for all his blessings. All the prayer points and wishes I had many years ago God has answered all of them and even more,” read the post.
It continued, “And I’m grateful to Him. I have just one more prayer point, one more birthday wish as I turn 40 today. Dear God, please make me the President of Nigeria in 2023 so I can wipe away the tears of my people. Thank you Lord for answering my prayer.”
It’s not the first time Yul Edochie is going public with his PON ambitions. In 2018, in a passionate social media rant, the former Anambra state gubernatorial candidate declared his interest in running for the office in 2023, and has continued to reiterate his ambition since then, as we draw closer to Nigeria Decides 2023.
Happy Birthday to Yul from all of us at Media Rants. Do you think he’s the man to lead us to that promised land?
