Zoe Saldana Sets New Box Office Milestone

Avatar: The Way of Water raced pass the billion dollar mark over the weekend setting up one of its stars in a box office league of her own. Zoe Saldana has officially become the only actor ever to have four movies rake in over $2 billion a the box office.

The 44-year-old actress achieved this feat having featured in 2009’s Avatar, 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and more Avatar installments on the way in the coming years, one can only expect more.

Commenting on her involvement with franchise films, the actress told Deadline;

“I feel grateful and like the luckiest girl in this town knowing that I was invited to join films with special directors in a special cast and they resonated with people so much so that we get a chance to come back again and come back another time. If anything, I’ve reaped all the benefits of that, I’ve gained friends. I still have mentors that I call and I lean into.”

Additionally, James Cameron continues to rule the box office game as he also has officially become the first director to have three films cross the 2 billion dollar mark, first with Titanic, then 2009’s Avatar, and most recently, Avatar: The Way of Water.
